Alor bhor Foundation entirely a non- profit and voluntary initiative aimed for bringing smile on the faces of helpless, poor, famished, old and underprivileged children, adolescents and displaced people.

In our country, the income is increasing among a group of people, at the same time a rising number of people are still living in extreme poverty and helplessness. Hence, discrimination is on rise. People are living in slums with their unavoidable poverty just beside the grandiose multi-storied buildings. Whereas, the affluent people can lend their hands to reduce the pain of these destitute people.  Thinking from this perspective, we, some like-minded fellows were united in 2018. We started from small scheme; however, we are fortunate enough to have many well wishers beside us since the very beginning. These benevolent people are not only from home but also from abroad—namely, the Probashi Bangladeshis—who offered their supports selflessly and passionately.

Undoubtedly, their enthusiasms keep us motivated. It was the 1st of February since when we have started our official journey and we found that nothing is impossible rather our willingness can lead to us what ‘we can’ achieve. Our combined efforts ease the hurdles. From this believe on our unity as our key strength, we have named our initiative ‘We Can Foundation’. “Alor Bhor” in Bengali means “Can do” in English.

Alor Bhor Foundation has taken several initiatives with the cooperation of enthusiastic people. The notable initiatives are: food distribution among famished people on a regular basis, collecting leftover food from any celebration and distributing it, giving medical services to these people by taking 2 takas (0.024 USD) only.  To help homeless people, warm clothes are distributed. Rehabilitations of such helpless people are arranged, assistance are ensured during climate disaster and emergency humanitarian assistance are offered. Moreover, safe habitats of birds are ensured. Iftar is distributed in the month of holy Ramadan. Blood-donation programs are organized.

In the last two years, we have proceeded to some extent with your cordial support. But we have a long way to go. Although our capabilities might be limited, we dream bigger. We dream that people will no longer stay awake starving, no one will die without having proper medical treatment, no child will have to choose any labor intensive and risky livelihood, well-equipped old home will be built in every district for helpless senior citizens, rehabilitation will be ensured for displaced and destitute children and adolescents. We believe that our dream will be fulfilled with your cooperation. We are inviting all of you irrespective of your groups, ideologies, religion or race. We have strong faith on our unity to achieve what ‘we can’.
